Portraiture and figurative work have been integral to the progression of my creative process. Trying to capture emotion through mixed media using acrylic and gouache paints, chalks, oil pastels and graphite. Colour choices are generally bold, but not intentionally so. I rely on an instinctive response when working, not aiming for realism, but responding to time, place and creating an emotional connection.
